With C60-olive-oil slowly hitting mainstream awareness, many are researching its effects and possible benefits. There have been anecdotal evidence indicating that c60 might help with memory and mental clarity. As you may already know, aging affects the way our brain works; but it does not necessarily need to be in a drastic way.
Research was conducted to evaluate improvement in cognition and also extension of lifespan using carboxyfullerene and the finding of the research was impactful. In the research, they administered a small-molecule synthetic enzyme superoxide dismutase (SOD) mimetic to wild-type (i.e. non-transgenic, non-senescence accelerated) to mice starting at middle age.
Chronic treatment not only reduced age-associated oxidative stress and mitochondrial radical production, but significantly extended lifespan. Treated mice also exhibited improved performance on the Morris water maze learning and memory task.
To our knowledge, this is the first demonstration that an administered antioxidant (c60 is the strongest antioxidant in the market) with mitochondrial activity and nervous system penetration not only increases lifespan, but rescues age-related cognitive impairment in mammals.
This study provides strong contribution of how oxidative stress impacts nervous system in aging and how a strong antioxidant can impact aging results. We encourage you to read more specifics about the research here.
